Secret Bridges & Trails - Maple Canyon
The fun of walking both over and under San Diego is challenged by a number of canyons that cut across the city grid. In order to deal with the resulting discontinuity of streets, several interesting pedestrian bridges have been built over the years to efficiently get people to their destinations and to the public transportation, which at the turn of the 20th century were the trolley lines. This tour takes you on a hike along the bottom of Maple Canyon to the wood trestle bridge that is one-of-a-kind in the US. You can also climb to the top of the canyon to then walk across the bridge. In addition, you will pass under the steel truss bridge at First Avenue which is another unique work of art. So get your walking shoes on and let's go!
